There are so many different aspects to blogging and so many moving parts, it can be hard to manage it all without getting overwhelmed. I use a lot of apps to help me stay organized, manage my time and keep it all together, especially while I'm traveling or on the go.

Here are the best apps for bloggers to help with managing all aspects of your business.

Express VPN

Express VPN is one of my favorite apps, and not just because it lets me bypass content restrictions for all my favorite TV shows. A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is essential for security on the road – it encrypts your network data so you can be protected everywhere. I use it when I'm home too, but it comes in very handy in random internet cafes or hostels when I want a secure internet connection.

Rebtel: International Calling

Rebtel uses landlines to let you make phone calls, which is amazing! It's great to have in case you ever need to call anyone, or if you're having a hard time finding good WiFi. You can buy top-ups for specific countries (for fairly cheap!) or you can get monthly passes for $10 that let you make unlimited calls to over 50 countries. I usually load $10 credit to have just in case I ever need it.

Price: FREE; In-App Purchase: Credit starting at $9.99

WhatsApp Messenger

Available to people in over 180 countries and actively used by half a billion people every day, WhatsApp lets you use your local number to text any other number in the world for free. My favorite feature is the fact that you can keep using your local number even if you are changing SIM cards. The app uses WiFi or data to connect, and in addition to messaging, you can also make voice calls.

Skype

I've been stranded too many times on the road without being able to call anyone, so I make sure I have plenty of back-up options. I like Skype because I can use it to call any landline, anywhere in the world, in addition to mobiles. I load $10 to my Skype account and it usually lasts me a year because it's so cheap to make calls. Got me out of a jam when I needed to call my rental car company in another country after getting a flat tire, so now I always make sure I have some credit available.

Digital Nomad Apps

Priority Pass

Access more than 1,300 airport lounges around the world with Priority Pass. It's a membership service, but it's absolutely worth it if you're traveling for more than just a couple of leisure trips a year. The lounges are great for doing work, as they're equipped with WiFi, warm food, alcohol, and comfortable seating. I actually go to airports extra early now just to eat and do some work before my flight. It's saved me hundreds in overpriced airport food alone!
